About Mixin’ It Up!
Mixin’ It Up! is an inclusive summer event designed to integrate art, fashion, and music into a singular, impactful one-night gathering. Mixin’ It Up! serves as a platform for emerging artists, designers, and musicians to exhibit their talents and engage with the community. This event caters to individuals with interests in art, fashion, or music, offering a multifaceted experience that emphasizes appreciation for creative expression and collaborative efforts. “Disorder” captures Shawnequa’s visionary approach as she transcends traditional portraits and figurative, exploring endless possibilities through her unique texture technique. Her work features unique characters that evoke familiarity and enigma, inviting viewers to ponder the narrative beneath the surface. By blending reality and imagination, Shawnequa reveals the shared, often bittersweet, threads of our existence.

Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts presents its annual Benefit Art Auction Exhibition. Experience 300 works of art by local, regional, and national artists participating in the 2024 Benefit Art Auction. Beginning October 1, all artwork is available for purchase at Buy It Now prices, 150% of retail price, until Friday, October 25, when bidding begins at 70% of retail price. Participating artists receive up to 50% commission on the sale of their work. All other proceeds raise critical funds to ensure Bemis Center's free, year-round exhibitions, educational public programs, LOW END performances, and international residency program.
